BIO

Yas Khaleghi is an Iranian-German LA-based multi-passionate artist; musician, singer, performer, songwriter, dancer, painter, and yogi. Specializing in improvisatory styles, her distinct and unique approach to music, art, performance, and composition gives her an innate edge and an unmistakable identity in the industry.

Flexing her desire to push creative boundaries she started her passion project under the name BLABLA COLLECTIVE.

A group of alternating exceptional musicians performing and recording improvisation sessions with an agreed-upon emotional, political, and/or philosophical intention.

Her versatility and adaptability within all genres of contemporary music are anchored by the strong foundation of higher education in music and performance that she attained at the prestigious Hamburg School Of Music in Germany, ArtEZ Conservatory in the Netherlands, as well as the Jazz and Dance department of CSU Northridge.


Having worked as a professional performing and recording artist for over a decade, her experience spans various disciplines, from musical ensembles to theater, dance, and acting performances and genres such as jazz, pop, singer/songwriter, neoclassical, soul, rock, and musical theater. Yas has performed at acclaimed venues throughout Europe and the United States; including the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts, Moroccan Lounge, Hotel Cafe, Birdland, Blue Whale, Valentine Recording Studio LA, Kampnagel, Ernst-Deutsch Theater, Jazzpodium De Tor, St.Pauli Theater, Laeiszhalle, Knust, just to name a few.


In 2018, Yas toplined for a BMW ad placement alongside the production company Harvest Digital and advertising agency Jung von Matt. In 2019, German Dream-Pop Duo “AROMA” featured Yas Khaleghi on their hit single “I Don’t Wanna Be With You”. Other notable projects and collaborations include performances and recordings with the renowned NDR Bigband, neo-classical composer Ryan Whyman, singer/songwriter Stevie Redstone, jazz guitarist Hanno Busch, jazz pianist Mahesh Balasooriya, German theater director Franz Wittenbrink’s productions “Damenklo” and “Café Amazonien”, among many others.

A solo debut EP is underway and is expectantly to be released in 2025.

 

Moreover, with a completed 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Yoga & Ayurveda Center under her belt, she is currently pursuing her 300 Hour certification to become a 500 Hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) offering Vinyasa, Pranayama, and Meditation as well as Gentle, Restorative, and Chair Yoga practices.
